The newly elected board started very actively and enthusiastically and has  already planned some of our events.

A visit to YIT Kausta is planned for the autumn/winter season. We will visit the company and familiarize with YIT Kausta construction projects in the city and their future plans.

As for May events, the most popular was the Finnish Garden party, with Volfas Engelman as our main sponsor. (For those who did not know - Volfas Engelman is part of the Finnish OLVI group). 18 member companies established prizes for Garden party lottery this year. We had 18 happy winners!  Big thanks to the main and the lottery sponsors!

Another important event in May was the opening of the sculpture Suomis (sculptor Tadas Gutauskas, architect Gintaras Čaikauskas) in front of the  Grand Office. The Former Finnish President Tarja Halonen, President Dalia Grybauskaite and the mayor of Vilnius unveiled the sculpture. The sculpture is a symbol of Finnish –Lithuanian friendship.

The erection of the sculpture was supported by donations from the Finnish companies. Their names are engraved in the fundament of the sculpture.
