Good-bye Winter Event outside of Town

Looks like spring is round the corner, especially after a few sunny days. With this kind of speedy warm weather it might be possible to see the first violet flowers soon:)
We, Lithuanians, have a tradition to mark the end of the winter and welcome the coming spring. In this mode I would like to invite all FLCC members and their families to spend the day in the nature, chase the winter out from our courtyards and mark the end of the winter eating homemade pancakes, hot soup and enjoying each others company outside in a very beautiful place – Neries river regional park.
To come to the beautiful Šilenai old village located in Neries regional park you have to drive road 5212 and turn to the left by the sign Šilėnai. It is a nice road taking you straight to the village church, called Šilėnai St. Virgin Mary Church. It takes only half an hour to come here from Vilnius center. Upon arriving, park the car by the church and count 45 or more minutes by walking to our meeting point.
Our meeting point is Naujosios Rėvos 8, the old mill place and the meeting time is around 12:00-12:30. Have your Nordic walking sticks, right shoes and a good mood. We will have a horse with the wagon to take you back to the parking where you left your cars afterwards.
Some of you may know this place already and the walking route, but those who don’t surely will find something interesting and authentic.
